Our national partners, Pastor Garry and Pastor Smith, lead a seminary and biblical institute located just outside the city of Santiago in the Dominican Republic. They are providing theological training for Hattian pastors and aspiring ministry leaders in their native languages of French and Creole. Due to the ongoing violence and instability in Haiti few opportunities remain for Haitians to receive theological training in their home country. TLI has partnered with Garry and Smith to bring theological tanning to approximately 50 Haitian students who are committed to growing in their ability to understand and communicate the Scriptures.

Course 1: Knowing God, Scriptures and OurselvesCOURSE DESCRIPTION
Course 1 provides the foundation and orientation for the entire 9 course curriculum. It introduces (1) God’s character, focusing on his sovereignty, wisdom, and goodness, and God’s nature as one and three (triune). It introduces (2) Scripture as our diverse and unified authority, with a fundamental hermeneutical question tied to its diversity, its unity, and its authority respectively. And it introduces (3) our own purpose and role as leaders within God’s church.
