Where We Work
Justice & Mercy Amazon (JMA)
The State of Amazonas in Brazil is a beautifully lush region known for its famous Amazon River. Many areas in this region are only accessible by boat or plane, yet the Lord is building His church in remote towns and villages along the river.
In 2013 Justice & Mercy Amazon (JMA) was founded to serve the churches along the Amazon River. They believe in the local church and exist to help serve its needs and help build relationships among the many churches. Some of their ministries include: 2 annual pastor conferences, counseling for pastors and their wives, provision of food, Bibles, and other resources.
As JMA has established relationships with many churches and pastors in this region they have realized there is a great need for training. In fact, last year they met with four lead pastors in Tefé all of whom asked JMA to help provide training so they can grow in their ability to better study and preach the word of God. TLI did an exploratory trip there in Spring 2022 and met with almost 40 church leaders who are wanting to be trained. Many of these church leaders not only pastor in their churches but evangelize and disciple people up and down the Amazon River. Lord willing in November 2022 we will be launching our first training location in the Amazonas. With the number of relationships JMA has in this region there is a potential of starting more training locations in the coming years.
