Baptist Theological School of Novi Sad
Within the Baptist Union of Serbia, the Baptist Theological School (BTS) has been operating since 1939. However, with the chaos of the Balkan wars in Yugoslavia and changing country geographies, the school has undergone much upheaval, opening and closing throughout the decades. TLI Global Partner Dwayne Baldwin is working alongside Dr. Ondrej Franka and the Serbian Baptist Union. They believe that the Balkans are eager for a school like BTS where students are trained to evangelize, disciple, and plant churches in a country where Evangelicals comprise only 0.1% of the population. Therefore, in 2015 the Baptist Theological School was opened in Novi Sad, Serbia, offering a Bachelor of Biblical and Theological Studies. BTS is somewhat different in that it is not only open to Pastors, but to all Christian students from diverse backgrounds. Our program seeks to be elemental yet challenging in a context where clear theological structure is not common. Our vision, “A New Generation of Christ-focused Believers in the Balkans”, reflects our community-encompassing intentions.

I love the goal of international, Christ-exalting, theological famine relief. And I love the way God has raised up Training Leaders Int’l to meet that need with real-live, Spirit-filled, human teachers, on the ground, face-to-face with pastors and Christian leaders who have little or no opportunity for in-depth theological training. May the Word of the Lord run and be glorified!
