TLI's largest training site is located in Monrovia, Liberia. Our national partner, Dyonah Thomas, founded the Center for Leadership Development (CLD) and has been involved with training pastors and church leader throughout the region before partnering with us.

Through our partnership, Dyonah’s goal is to provide a more structured and systematic theological training program for the pastors. CLD has arranged for TLI’s training to be certified (accredited) by the Liberian government. This increases the academic requirements both for the students as well as the teachers that we are sending on our teams.

Because of Dyonah’s extensive network, there was an initial interest of over 200 pastors in the TLI training, although we had to limit it to 100 in order facilitate the learning process. Due to poor road conditions related to the raining season in August 2017, only 85 pastors were able to attend the first week of training which was on the Attributes of God. The training was held at the facilities of Grace Life Church in Monrovia where Dyonah is the pastor. While most of the students are from Liberia, there were some from the neighboring countries of Guinea, Sierra Leone, and Ivory Coast. All of them demonstrated a good foundational knowledge of the Scriptures, but have a hunger for further theological training which is not readily available or affordable.

This site is scheduled to complete the training and graduate the students in March 2020. TLI is excited about its partnership with Dyonah and the Center for Leadership Development. We believe it will be strategic not only in equipping many pastors in the Word but also in strengthening churches throughout West Africa.

Course 6 equips the trainees to understand letters accurately and to communicate them clearly and relevantly. Ephesians has been chosen as a representative of this genre. Sample passages from Ephesians will be the focus (e.g., 1:1–14; 2:1–10; 3:1–13; 4:1–16, 17–24; dip into chapters 5–6).
