TRIP FULLMar 23 - Apr 1, 2023
Liwonde, Malawi
Malawi is one of the poorest countries in the world. Theological famine is also widespread, the health and wealth gospel is prevalent, and Islam is expanding country-wide. Solid formal training options exist in Malawi’s larger cities, but these remain inaccessible to the many city and rural, bi-vocational pastors serving the local churches of Malawi. TLI established its first Non-Formal training site in Malawi in 2019. In August 2022 we will launch our Non-Formal training cohort. The site itself is rural, but pastors and church leaders come from the cities and rural villages for training.

CURRICULUM
Course 2 - Knowing the Bible's Story
COURSE DESCRIPTION
Course 2 explores the general flow of Christ-centered redemptive history from Genesis to Revelation. Major themes that appear throughout—each including aspects of continuity and discontinuity—are God’s kingdom, covenants, people, kingship, priesthood, prophetic ministry, and mission. Each theme is embedded within Scripture’s testimony to the fundamental storyline of God’s plan to reconcile the world to himself under Christ’s kingship for his glory. The point of the whole course is to equip the trainees to answer the hermeneutical Question 2: How does it fit in the Bible? The issue of the Bible’s whole story is hermeneutically potent and foundational to handling individual texts and passages rightly.
