TLI ministers in this limited-access country. At one time the nation was closed to all Christian witness and missionary activity. Since 1990, restrictions have increased once again, and today many believers are persecuted in various ways. It is estimated that now there are only 13,000 evangelical Christians (1.8% of the population) within the country. TLI has approximately 15 students.
Some of the students have experienced direct persecution and have even faced imprisonment for their faith. However, they remain bold in their witness. With this small nucleus of students, TLI has the incredible opportunity to shape the pastors and church leaders who will have a strategic impact on the future of the young and growing church of this South Asian nation. Graduation is scheduled for November 2018.
