Pastor Tesfaye Nenko Edema, TLI's national partner in Ethiopia, helped to start this TLI training site at the location of an old girls' school originally built by Scandinavian Lutheran missionaries. To do this he recruited the help of a local denomination which partners to both host and populate the classes.
At present, there are approximately 45 students at the site, most of whom are pastors, youth leaders, women's leaders, or lay elders. This site will graduate in late 2018. Challenges in the school are mostly related to the denomination's hierarchical and legalistic leanings, Prayer is needed for TLI's training to address the unhelpful teaching and divisions which exist among the churches of this area.

Course 1 provides the foundation and orientation for the entire nine-course curriculum. It introduces (1) God’s character, focusing on his sovereignty, wisdom, and goodness, and God’s nature as one and three (triune). It introduces (2) Scripture as our diverse and unified authority, with three fundamental hermeneutical questions: one tied to Scripture’s diversity, one to its unity, and one to its authority. And it introduces (3) our own purpose and role as leaders within God’s church.
