Overview
In an effort to support healthy churches in the majority world, TLI assists local leaders in establishing their own pastoral training colleges and seminaries. This position requires implementing a vision for formal theological training with a U.S.-based team of Instructos and local partners located around the world. The ideal candidate has a terminal degree in biblical studies or education, and proven competency in leading a team. Candidates must be able to create and teach formal courses cross-culturally and have a deep commitment to and experience in the local church. You must develop your own personal support network and be willing to live in Minneapolis.

Qualifications
- Abiding faith in Jesus Christ

- Love for the local church and a passion to train national leaders who will plant and pastor healthy local churches
- Ability to create and teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in accordance with a course description from a college or seminary
- Ability to establish relationships and communicate cross-culturally
- Ability to lead a team of professional educators
- Whole-hearted agreement with The Gospel Coalition Confessional Statement
- Whole-hearted agreement with the vision and strategy of TLI
- PhD, DMin, or equivalent in biblical studies or education
- Pastoral experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Aid the President in the implementation of the vision of TLI
- Travel overseas 2-4 times per year. The purposes for trips include:
- Teaching modular courses
- Assisting in the development of staff and volunteer instructors
- Meeting with local leaders to foster the further development of their colleges and seminaries
- Developing and assessing potential new partnerships
- Assist local leaders as they establish new theological colleges and seminaries.
- Lead a development process for staff Instructors to continually improve as cross-cultural educators
- Build team values and skills that will enable staff Instructors to mentor volunteer teachers as they create their courses and prepare to teach cross-culturally
- Oversee the staff Instructors as they take responsibility for the relationships and coordination of our school partners
- Administer the fulfillment of the teaching obligations with our school partners. This includes recruiting volunteer instructors
- Participate as a presenter as well as establishing and deepening relationships at conferences related to Evangelical scholarship and cross-cultural missions
- Engage in professional writing projects related to your area of specialization and the mission of TLI
- Perform research and writing projects for internal use at TLI
Travel Expectations
- 30 - 50 days per year for international travel
- 15 - 25 days per year for domestic travel to participate in events such as conferences, staff meetings, interviews, and recruiting

Director of Global Partner Ministry

Overview
TLI's Global Partner ministry helps provide stability to developing leader-training venues around the world. We do this by mobilizing and mentoring competent formal educators and non-formal trainers to strengthen existing or create new educational venues, to help train nationals, and to mentor national partners. The ideal candidate has a minimum of five years of cross-cultural missions and overseas living experience. He must also have a deep commitment to and experience in the local church. He must develop his own personal support network and be willing to live in Minneapolis. This role will include a transition from the current Global Partner Director before the full assumption of duties.

Responsibilities
- Aid the President in the promotion and implementation of TLI vision to support theological training where it is needed
- Lead in setting strategies for the Global Partner ministry
- Oversee the appointment, onboarding, and pre-field phases of new Global Partners
- Collaborate with appropriate TLI personnel to identify needs and opportunities for Global Partners in such ministries as schooling planting, school administration, teaching, and leadership training
- Lead department staff to develop and implement care strategies for Global Partners
- Participate in the quarterly reporting and video conferencing with all Global Partners
- Cooperate with local sending churches in the oversight and care of Global Partners
- Represent Global Partners department on the TLI Leadership Team
- Develop a plan for Global Partners field visits; be available to travel and take such visits
- Organize and facilitate visits by Global Partners to the TLI Minneapolis office
- Pursue personal development in the areas of missions and theological training (such as attending conferences, reading, etc.)
- Teach 1-2 courses per year at TLI training sites
- Promote and recruit for TLI Global Partners ministry
Travel Expectations
- Visit 2-3 Global Partner ministry contexts per year (can be combined with teaching trips)
- Spend 15-20 days a year domestic travel for fundraising, recruiting, interviews, and meetings

Instructor of New Testament
In an effort to support pastoral training in the majority world, TLI is looking for qualified men to serve as Instructors at formal pastoral training institutions overseas. The position is based in Minneapolis, and requires you to take 4-5 international trips each year. The ideal candidate has a terminal degree in New Testament, a deep commitment to and experience in the local church, and proven competency in creating and teaching formal courses cross-culturally. While in the US, Instructors help coordinate the work with TLI partner colleges and seminaries as well as working on research and writing projects. Instructors must develop their own personal support network and be willing to live in Minneapolis.

Responsibilities
- Aid the President in implementing of the vision of TLI
- Travel overseas 4-5 times a year. Trips will include teaching modular courses, engaging students inside and outside the classroom, and meeting with the school leaders to aid in continuously improving the training programs. Trips will primarily be to formal training schools but may also include non-formal expository preaching courses.
- Closely mentor volunteer faculty as they create their courses and prepare to teach cross-culturally
- Take primary responsibility for the relationships and coordination with one of our formal school partners
- Assist in recruiting volunteer faculty. This may include traveling to seminaries and churches.
- Participate as a presenter as well as establishing and deepening relationships at conferences related to evangelical scholarship and cross-cultural missions

International Trainer
TLI is looking for qualified men to serve as full-time trainers of pastors overseas. The position is based in the United States and requires you to take 4-5 international trips a year. The ideal candidates are either men with over 10 years of pastoral experience in the United States or missionaries who are returning to the US and looking for a new opportunity to serve the global church.While in the US you would work on writing and research projects for TLI. You must develop your own personal support network and be willing to live in Minneapolis.

TLI exists to strengthen churches worldwide by mobilizing humble teachers who equip healthy leaders within mutually encouraging relationships. This role would help lead a ministry to serve diaspora (immigrant and refugee) pastors and church leaders in the U.S. through a preaching workshop and mentorship program. There are significant numbers of diaspora churches in urban centers throughout the U.S. whose pastors would benefit from encouraging relationships and theological resources. We partner with local churches and ministries who share our vision to develop diaspora church leaders and work alongside them for the sake of the gospel in their communities and around the world.
You must develop your own personal support network.

- Devise ways that TLI curriculum can be best taught to oral learners.
- Edit, revise, and add to existing curriculum as determined by the Director of Curriculum Development.
- Teaching: Travel overseas 1-2 times to train pastors.
