Christ Bible Seminary
Christ Bible Seminary is a recently established graduate-level theological seminary in central Japan. It offers the M.Div., M.A., and a one-year certificate in Christian Studies. Its purpose is to train a new generation of leaders -- pastors, teachers, church planters, missionaries, counselors, youth workers, and others -- for the church of Japan. With an emphasis on training younger leaders, CBS strives for a balance of theological rigor, character development, and practical instruction. Students and faculty have opportunities for evangelism and church planting through affiliated ministries. With limited exceptions, courses are taught either in Japanese or bilingually through an interpreter. While holding to Reformed theology, the seminary is independent, accepting students from a variety of Protestant backgrounds. CBS is an associate member of the Asia Theological Association and has partnership relations with Covenant Theological Seminary and Reformed Theological Seminary.

People with a theology degree should consider serving cross-culturally not just because of the great need. They should do so also because God shapes and molds us in new ways as we learn a new language and culture, as we see how God is at work around the world first-hand, and as we participate in what God is doing to build the church.
