Missions 101

An Update

Jun. 28, 2011By: Darren CarlsonAuthor Bio

I just want to take the opportunity to post an update on how TLI is doing in our three areas of focus as we reach the half-way point of the year.

1.  We have have had four short-term trips that we have published that have gone well.  Tomorrow a team leaves for Southeast Asia.  There are seven more trips planned for the year.  That is amazing.  We have received a lot of positive feedback from missionaries and schools that the people we are sending are humble, ready and serve the students they are teaching well!

2.  Two of our missionary families finished their time in Cameroon.  The Thieles are headed to Kansas City where Dale was called to be the Senior Pastor of a church.  The Cowans head to St. Andrews where Andrew was accepted into a PhD program and will be studying with NT Wright.

3.  We are now looking intently for two families to move to Brazil to start a seminary.  If you have a ThM or PhD, or know someone who does, and is interested in missions, please contact us.  We have another potential training center starting in Eastern Europe in a year or two.

All seven staff members meet for the first time together July 8-10.  Pray for them.  This is an important meeting.
