Welcome to the Missions 101 blog, a ministry of Training Leaders International. The purpose of this blog is to discuss issues relevant to cross-cultural engagement. We will highlight a number of topics covering issuing from short-term missions to economic policy. We will have book reviews, provide free resources and point readers to helpful ministries that are involved is missions work.
The goal is to help the Church to think through how to best serve one another across cultures, to highlight real needs and give a platform to people around the world that can provide wisdom and insight.
Darren Carlson, the President of TLI will be responsible for the content of this blog (so you can blame him if things go awry). However, we expect many people to contribute from around the world. Monday-Wednesday will cover any number of topics. On Monday we could post a video highlighting another ministry, while Tuesday you would read an article that helps your local church think through issues of short-term missions. Wednesday could be an article about theological education abroad. Thursdays will deal with economic challenges such as effective charitable giving, poverty alleviation and wealth. Friday we will always highlight a book we are reading. I think you get the idea. It will be diverse!
So enjoy. Subscribe. Explore the website. May this blog help you think deeply about how to serve and be served by Christians around the world.
